Berkeley Breaks Ground On New Police Station

Berkeley, MO  (KTRS)  The city of Berkeley is one step closer to having a new police station.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday for the state of the art facility being built in the 8300 block of Frost Avenue. Berkeley Mayor Theodore Hoskins called this a historical event for the north county community. “The city of Berkeley has not built a police station since 1973.” Hoskins also stated that with the 5.5 million-dollar facility being constructed in the middle of the city, it will reduce crime.

The project is being funded through a bond issues passed in 2012.  The new police station is expected to be completed in mid 2016.
