Charges Dropped In Horrific Animal Abuse Case

St. Louis, MO (KTRS)  Charges have been dropped against a north St. Louis woman accused of burning a dog.

Prosecutors say this was because the witness in the case against Adrienne Martin is no longer cooperating with the investigation. Martin was charged back in July of 2013 after she allegedly set Brownie, a terrier mix on fire. Brownie died of his injuries.

According to police, the incident took place in the 3900 block of  Cote Brilliante Avenue. This was just a few blocks away from where Martin live on Palm Avenue.

Randy Grim, Founder of Stray Rescue of St. Louis released this statement:  “My heart is broken and I’m feeling numb that justice wasn’t served for Brownie, but I still hold out hope,” Grim adds “There is still great evidence against Martin, but the witness testimony would have been key to help ensure a conviction. Our hopes are she will be recharged in this case.”
