Clayton Announces Amnesty Day For Those With Outstanding Warrants

Clayton, MO  –  The City of Clayton will hold an Amnesty Day for defendants who currently have outstanding warrants. The municipal court Judge and Prosecutor will be available to see defendants on Monday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Among the rules for Amnesty Day:

1. Defendant must personally appear with valid identification (State issued driver’s license, identification card or valid passport). Defendant must appear in court personally on amnesty day to dispose of cases. If you hire an attorney, your attorney must appear with you on this date. With the exception of an attorney, nobody may appear on behalf of any defendant.

2. Defendants must have cases that are in warrant status in the City of Clayton (we cannot handle cases in any other jurisdiction). Any type of case will qualify. You will not be arrested on your warrant for appearing in court.

3. Defendants will sign in and be seen by the Judge and/or Prosecutor on a first-come, first-serve basis. An attempt to adjudicate or dispose of your cases will be made. Please come prepared to make a payment toward any fines assessed on amnesty day.

4. Upon adjudication of your cases(s), your warrant will be recalled. Failure to comply with any court order, continuance, direction to appear on a future docket or other court directive will result in the immediate reissuance of a bench warrant.

5. In the event of an inability to dispose of cases, a reduced bond may be posted.

6. Please come prepared to make payment or post bond on this date.
