(KTRS) – The group controlling the funds for renovations at the Gateway Arch is balking at a request for cash from the National Park Service.

Park officials asked the Great Rivers Greenway for its first major installment of ongoing operations funding. The Post-Dispatch reports that included a request from $356,000 next year. A large chunk of that money would pay for three park rangers.

The Associated Press contributed to this report. KTRS personality, McGraw Milhaven sits on the Great Rivers Greenway Board.
