(KTRS) – Anheuser-Busch InBev may be closing in on a deal to buy the world’s second-largest brewery, but they are in the news for another reason Tuesday.

The US Justice Department is examining accusations from craft breweries that the giant beer distributors are making it more difficult for the smaller companies to do business.

The Post-Dispatch reports that AB InBev says they speaking to regulators in California and members of the DoJ. The issue stems from requirements in some states that beer companies use a distributor to send their products to market.

AB InBev has recently purchased additional distributors and the craft brewers fear they will not be able to sell their beers.
