The Grammy-winning SLSO kicks off their season on Wednesday with a free concert on Art Hill.
John Carney has wanted to chat with David Robertson, the Chief Conductor and Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, but for one reason or another, it never worked out….It might have something to do with the fact that David is also the head conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in Australia (housed in the famed Sydney Opera House), which keeps him busy during our summers (their winters). But whatever the reason, the Grammy-winning conductor of our Grammy-winning St. Louis Symphony, is back in town to kick off the SLSO season, with their annual performance on Art Hill in Forest Park. It’s Wednesday night, and free to the public. Visit www.STLSymphony.org for more info on times, and to check the full schedule, and we’re hoping David (who’s been our chief conductor for more than 10 years), doesn’t remain a stranger to the show.
