St. Louis, MO (KTRS) – Governor Jay Nixon announced he commuting the sentence of a man serving life in prison for drug possession.
In 1996, Jeffrey Mizanskey was sentenced to life in prison without a chance for parole–Mizanskey was a persistent offender. Governor Nixon’s decision means that Mizanskey will no be eligible for parole.
The Governor also granted pardons to five other people–all of them were non-violent offenders.
