( KTRS ) Environmental reviews of four possible sites for a federal spy agency’s new St. Louis-area regional headquarters have been delayed by several months.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is considering two sites in St. Louis County, one in north St. Louis and a St. Clair County tract of land next to Scott Air Force Base, in Illinois, for its new western regional headquarters.

More than 3,000 jobs are at stake as the little-known federal agency looks to move from its current St. Louis location near the Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Public hearings on the environmental studies are planned for late October, with the winning site due to be announced by March.
