Express Scripts Cuts Ribbon On Expansion

(St. Louis, MO)  –  Gov. Jay Nixon is expected to be among those attending Monday’s opening of a new office building at Express Scripts.

The addition is part of an overall $56 million expansion which is expected to add 1,500 employees over the next few years.

According to the Post Dispatch, an economic impact study performed by University of Missouri-St. Louis reports that Express Scripts generated $3.8 billion in direct economic impact in Missouri from 2006 to 2013.

The company, which employed 46-hundred people at the end of December, had a local payroll of $579 million last year.

The reports also said Express Scripts and its employees paid $39 million in state and local taxes in 2013.
