Federal Judge Dismisses NLEC’s Lawsuit

St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  New Life Evangelistic Center is facing another obstacle in its on-going battle with the city of St. Louis.

The “St. Louis Post Dispatch” reports that a federal judge yesterday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Reverend Larry Rice back in March. The lawsuit sought to keep St. Louis from revoking an occupancy permit for Rice’s homeless shelter.

The city has said it will shut the downtown shelter unless it abides by the permit, which allows no more than 32 people to be housed there overnight. The shelter often accommodates more than 200 people.

Rice claims that without New Life, many people will have no place to go.
