COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) – A former University of Missouri football player has been cast as a serial killer in a horror film.

Former offensive lineman Max Copeland told the Columbia Missourian (http://bit.ly/1fckXTC ) he’s a star in an independent movie called “Casting Call” in New York City.

Copeland plays a character named “Hack-man” who kills actors auditioning for what a preview describes as roles “worth dying for.” Copeland says his skill at acting crazy helped him land the gig. A preview shows him chasing a screaming woman with a nail-laden wooden rod.

So far only about four scenes are finished. Screenwriter Bryan Veney is working to raise money to produce a full-length film.
