Jeffco Child Dead After Mother’s Boyfriend Used ‘Wrestling Moves’ On Toddler; WWE Hopes for Justice

Jefferson County, MO  (KTRS)  A Jefferson County mother and her boyfriend are accused in the death of her two-year-old child.

Police say Richard Gamache Jr. of House Springs allegedly performed a wrestling move on the toddler, which led to her death. He is charged with with abuse of a child resulting in death. The child’s mother, 19-year Cheyenne Cook, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The girl, who hasn’t been identified, was taken to a hospital on May 16th, according to police. She died on Friday. Investigators say charges could to be upgraded in the case.

Investigators say one of the moves Gamache used on the toddler involved picking her up and slamming her onto the ground.

In a statement about the case, the WWE responded: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic death and hope that the guilty parties are brought to justice. There is no excuse or justification for the brutal and ultimately fatal beating of a 2-year-old child by a grown man. This is a clear case of criminal intent and a lack of parental supervision.”
