Judge rules against New Life Evangelistic Center.

( KTRS ) A federal judge has tossed out a lawsuit by Rev. Larry Rice, that sought to keep St. Louis from revoking an occupancy permit for his shelter for homeless people.

The city says it will shut the New Life Evangelistic Center unless it abides by a permit allowing no more than 32 people to be housed there overnight. Officials say the shelter often accommodates more than 200 and has drawn crime and nuisance complaints against it.

Rev Larry Rice says the ruling is not a setback because it leaves open the door for filing a suit at a later date. He says without the shelter, many will be out in the cold.
