Leaders break group on Delmar Loop Trolley project

University City, MO (KTRS) – Civic and community leaders gathered to break ground on the Delmar Loop Trolley project this morning. Mayor Francis Slay and Joe Edwards led the ceremonies.

The $43 million dollar project will connect the Loop and Missouri History Museum with a line that includes ten stops. Today’s ceremony took place near Delmar at Limit Avenue, symbolic as the boundary between University City and St. Louis city.

The project is expected to be completed by next summer and service would begin in late 2016. There is a pending lawsuit that seeks to stop the project.
