Man Suing After Being Arrested During I-70 Protest

St. Louis County, MO  (KTRS)  A man who claims he was a legal observer at a protest that shut down I-70 is suing St. Louis County, claiming he was arrested without cause and detained for eighteen hours without charges.

Wednesday’s federal lawsuit filed by 28-year-old Mustafa Abdullah alleges he that he did not take part in Monday’s demonstration.  He was among 63 who were arrested during the “Moral Monday” demonstration that shut down I-70 in both directions near the Blanchette Bridge.

Meanwhile, St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger lifted the state of emergency Friday morning. Stenger issued the order on Monday in response to violent protests in Ferguson on Sunday night.
