Mayor Knowles Request Community Feedback For DOJ Negotiations

Ferguson, MO  (KTRS)  Ferguson Mayor James Knowles is calling on the community to provide feedback on the city’s negotiations with the Department of Justice.

Knowles made that request at Tuesday night’s Ferguson City Council meeting. Knowles said, “In order for us to know exactly what we need to get out of these proceedings, we also need to get input from the city and we need to get good input from the residents.”

Community members may offer their input by phoning or emailing the mayor or city council members.

Knowles also expressed disappointment that not everyone recognizes positives changes that have been made within city government. He elaborated, “Nobody in the city government here, nobody on the city council is telling anybody to stand up and pat themselves on the shoulder, but at least we need to be recognizing that community, the city, is moving in the right direction.”  Knowles added that “we need to find common ground for the entire community. “

Knowles and members of the city council also expressed condolences for the family of Jamyla Boden and the family of Sergeant Peggy Vassallo of the Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department.
