Murder Rate Continues To Soar In St. Louis

St. Louis, MO  (KTRS)  The unofficial murder rate in the city of St. Louis now stand at 155.

This comes after a 41-year-old man was gunned down Tuesday night in the 1900 block of East Warne Avenue. There’s no word of any arrests and the victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Meanwhile, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay says he’s looking to add eighty more police officers in the city as soon as possible to address concerns about St. Louis’ rising number of homicides. Slay says adding the additional officers would bring the police force back to full strength.

Both Slay and St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson are attending a multi-city crime summit in Washington, D.C. today.
