Employees at a St. Charles Chuck E. Cheese are being praised for how they dealt with a child being left behind yesterday.

The St. Charles police say a two-year-old boy was left behind at the restaurant by his daycare. He was one of 14 kids taken to the Chuck E Cheese by two women who work for Rich & Little Daycare in Moline Acres. Fox 2 reports that witnesses say there were just too many kids for only two employees.

Chuck E. Cheese employees noticed the boy wandering around and called police. The officers said the employees handled the situation perfectly. The boy has been reunited with his mother. An investigation into the situation is ongoing.

LEADWOOD, Mo. (AP) - A Leadwood, Missouri man is being credited with saving the life of a 12-year-old boy, jumping into a flooded river to pull the child to safety.

The Park Hills Daily Journal reports that the child, from Leadwood, Mo., is hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being rescued Sunday evening from the Big River.

Witnesses and police say the boy and two others were trying to cross a bridge that was flooding. The boy fell into the water near a culvert pipe and the force of the water sucked him into the pipe.

He emerged from the other end of the pipe and was floating down the swift-moving river when resident Robert Salsberry was able to grab the boy, pull him to a small island and perform CPR.

ST. LOUIS -- The Transportation Security Administration is apologizing after agents at Lambert Airport in St. Louis sought to screen a 3-year-old girl in a wheelchair.

The mother of the child shot video that caused a stir in social media after it was posted online. The incident happened Feb. 8. The girl and her family were about to fly to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. A TSA agent asked to pat down the 3-year-old and screen her wheelchair. The agent initially told the girl’s mother, Annie Schulte, it was illegal to tape the activity. On the video, the little girl, Lucy, who has spina bifida, is seen crying.

Agents eventually decided against a pat-down.

The TSA says it regrets the incident and will address concerns with its workers.
