A note for drivers in the Brentwood area today and tonight.

A broken water main has shut down one lane of Eager Road in each direction between Hanley Road and I-170. The closures will stay in place through rush hour tonight. The affected area handles around 25,000 vehicles a day. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route.

The road is expected to be open by Wednesday morning rush.

Thursday crash kills DirecTV serviceman

Police are yet not sure what led to a crash on Interstate 170 that killed a DirecTV serviceman Thursday.

The crash happened on northbound 170 near Page Boulevard just before noon.  The Missouri Highway Patrol says a DirecTV service van rear-ended a semi trailer.

Overland Police say the van's driver 35 year old Anthony Graciani of St. Louis was extricated from the wreck and taken to a hospital where he later died.  No one else was injured.

Police officers were not able to save two people from a fiery crash over the weekend.

The single-car accident happened on I-170 on Sunday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 27-year-old Nicholas Nelson's car left the road, hit a median cable and sign, then flipped over and caught fire. An off-duty St. Louis County police officer and Berkley officers tried to put out the fire and rescue the occupants, but failed.

Nelson and passenger Ilana Elbert both died.
