Police have identified the man shot and killed this morning in North St. Louis.

Police received a call about a shooting just after 8 AM. When officers arrived they found 45-year-old Sean Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No information on any suspects or a motive for the shooting.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A publicist who worked with nationally syndicated radio and TV personality David "Kidd" Kraddick says Kraddick has died at a charity golf event in greater New Orleans. He was 53.

Ladd Biro of the public relations firm Champion Management told The Associated Press that Kraddick died Saturday at a tournament organized to raise money for his Kidd's Kids charity.

"He died doing what he loved," Biro says.

No cause of death was immediately given.

Biro says the "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" show is syndicated by YEA Networks and heard on more than 75 radio stations. The show's cast is seen weeknights on nationally syndicated TV show "Dish Nation."

YeaNetworks said in a statement that the show's crew is "heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and leader."

A fatal accident shut down Eastbound I-44 on Saturday.

A man driving a pickup truck ran into an empty police car that was parked there to divert traffic after an earlier accident. The truck ricocheted into a tractor trailer. The pickup then burst into flames. 

The driver of the pickup truck died at the scene.

HIALEAH, Fla. (AP) — Police say a gunman who barricaded himself with hostages inside a South Florida apartment complex has killed six people before being shot to death by a SWAT team.

Sgt. Eddie Rodriguez tells The Associated Press the hours-long standoff began around 6:30 p.m. EDT in a five-story building in Hialeah, just a few miles north of Miami.

He says the bodies of three women and two men were found throughout the apartment complex after police arrived. Another man was killed across the street when the gunman allegedly spotted him and took aim.

Rodriguez says the two hostages the man took were unharmed. Before the shootout, police had been able to communicate with the gunman.

Rodriguez says police were still investigating the motive and identifying the gunman and victims.

The man involved in a fight outside of an East Alton bar in May, has died of his injuries.

Randy Baze was involved in the altercation outside of The Airliner Bar and Grill. Baze was severely injured when he fell in the parking lot and hit his head. The Post-Dispatch reports that Baze recently underwent surgery for the injuries, but never recovered from the procedure.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department says the fight was caught on video and it appears Baze hit the other man first. With Baze's death, the Sheriff does plan to submit the case to the state's attorney and charges could possibly be filed.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Organizers of a Missouri River race say a paddler died in his sleep after dropping out of the competition.

The Kansas City Star reports that the man had competed in the first day of the Missouri American Water MR340 on Tuesday. Race director and founder Scott Mansker said Wednesday that the man was camping overnight in Miami, Mo., when he died.

The paddler's boat partner had decided not to continue after Tuesday's leg of the race. Mansker said the man and his ground crew decided to continue to follow the race after withdrawing from the competition in Lexington.

The race is a four-day, 340-mile trek across Missouri from Kansas City to St. Charles.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) -- A southeast Missouri woman is facing manslaughter charges for allegedly running over her lover.

The Southeast Missourian reports that 29-year-old Angelia Hanson of Cape Girardeau was charged Friday with first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the death of 43-year-old Jody Lane.

Police say Hanson backed a Dodge Durango over Lane Friday morning outside their home. Hanson told police she accidentally ran over Lane after an argument. Lane was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Hanson does not yet have an attorney. She is jailed on $100,000 bond.

A tragic accident in Rolla over the weekend as a mother accidentally ran over her daughter on Sunday morning.

The Rolla Police say the 24-year-old mother was backing her van out of parking space, did not see her two-year-old daughter, and hit her. The toddler was taken to the hospital where she died.

An investigation into the accident continues.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — A southwestern Illinois man pleaded guilty during his trial on charges that he drunkenly caused a 2010 two-vehicle wreck that killed the other driver.

Thirty-six-year-old James Griesbaum of Aviston pleaded guilty to two felony DUI-related counts.

A spokeswoman for the Madison County State's Attorney's Office tells the Belleville News-Democrat that Griesbaum will be sentenced to simultaneous prison terms of three years and six months in prison on each count.

Authorities contend that Griesbaum was drunk in February 2010 in Madison County when his pickup truck collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Barbara Green of Trenton. She died.

Griesbaum's trial began Tuesday with jury selection and was to have gone to the jury for deliberation as early as Friday.

Griesbaum's sentencing date was not immediately set.

A total of three people now face charges connected to last week's fatal hit-and-run accident outside of Cahokia.

Kevin Powell was charged with several crimes Thursday, including reckless homicide, for allegedly hitting and killing 9-year-old Fabian Teson last Thursday.

A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Devan Harris, was charged with two counts of obstruction justice.

25-year-old Alysa Sherwood owns the car that Powell was driving. She faces charges for letting him use the car.
