Judge says Clemons failed to establish innocence

Wednesday, 07 August 2013 07:52 Published in Local News

A new development in the case of Reggie Clemons, who was convicted of raping and murdering two sisters on the Chain of Rocks bridge in 1991. Judge Michael Manners said Clemons failed to establish his innocence during a special hearing in the case. However, Manners also said prosecutors improperly suppressed evidence and that police coerced Clemons into confessing. Clemons pleaded the 5th Amendment more than 30 times during a hearing in September. The Missouri Supreme Court will now make the final ruling. They can decide on anything from keeping Clemons on death row to throwing out the case.

Anheuser-Busch beer garden opens today

Tuesday, 06 August 2013 08:23 Published in Local News

Today a new beer garden opens at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Soulard. Most St. Louisans are familiar with the Anheuser-Busch brewery tour, which draws around 350,000 people every year, and now those people have one final stop to make. The new 10,000 square foot, outdoor beer garden features a full menu, 17 beers on tap, and room for 300 people. There's also a daily Brewmasters tasting as well as photo ops available with the Budweiser Clydesdales. The beer garden is the first of its kind at AB-InBev's 12 breweries in the United States. And while the tour remains free of charge, including two free beers, A-B will charge for all food and drink at the beer garden.

7-Eleven is offering a reward in the case of a St. Louis clerk who was shot to death at one their locations earlier this summer. 30-year-old Bhutanese refugee Mon Rai was gunned down on June 10 at the 7-Eleven on Gravois and Bates in south County. He left behind a pregnant wife and an 8-year-old son. 7-Eleven says the reward will be given to anyone with information leading to “the apprehension, arrest and indictment” of those responsible for Rai’s death.
