Downtown neighbors file petition against Larry Rice's New Life Evangelistic Center

KMOV-TV reports the City of St. Louis is reviewing the formal petition signed by 167 neighbors of the homeless shelter on Locust Street. The petition mentions problems with the NLEC such as loitering, drinking in public, public urination, noise, and harassment.
The New Life Evangelistic Center is run by the Reverend Larry Rice, who is often at odds with the city, most recently for trying to establish homeless camps in city neighborhoods.
A bicyclist was killed early this morning after colliding with a vehicle in St. Clair County Illinois.
KSDK TV reports police responded around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at Illinois Route 159 and Douglas Road. Few other details are available at this time.
The Smithton Police department is heading up the investigation.
It might not be Thanksgiving time, but turkey hunting season is in full-swing in Missouri. State conservation officials say the number of turkeys killed by hunters so far this season is slightly down from last year. The Department of Conservation reports over 21,000 turkeys were taken in the first week, which is down about 300 from the first week of the 2012 season. Hunters bagged the most turkeys in Franklin and Texas counties.
