Hazelwood Dollar General robbed on Monday

A suspect remains at large after robbing the Dollar General store in Hazelwood.

The robbery happened just before noon Monday. Police say a woman walked up to the cashier, demanded money and told her she had a weapon. The suspect was able to escape with the money. Anyone who might have seen something is asked to call the Hazelwood Police at 314-838-5000.

 

Metro workers say they are pleased with mediators

The Metro workers union released a statement saying they are pleased with progress made by mediators.

The Local 788 is arguing that Metro should not be allowed to scrap the pension plan for current employees. Company officials were trying to transition the pension to a 401k for all employees, past, current, and future.

The mediators have also sided with the workers who are asking for a livable wage increase.

Customer foils robbery in progress at gas station

A customer at a Shell gas station in Chesterfield is being credited with foiling an attempted robbery.

Just after ten Monday morning, police say a suspect walked into the station, pointed a gun at the cashier, and demanded money. A customer started walking up to the station and that caused the suspect to run into a waiting car and speed away.

Police have released images of the suspect as well as the escape car. Anyone with any information should contact Detective Ovca or Detective Brandt at the Chesterfield Police Department 636-537-3000 or Crime Stoppers 866-371-8477.
