Two workers injured after scaffolding collapses

Friday, 21 June 2013 17:00 Published in Local News

And in another case of deja vu, two workers were injured after problems with their scaffolding.

The workers were part of the construction team building a new CVS pharmacy in Bridgeton. The workers fell 15 feet when their scaffolding became unstable. Both have non-life threatening injuries. Yesterday, four window washers had to be rescued after their scaffolding collapsed. None of the four were seriously hurt.

Another St. Louis County Police Officer was involved in a traffic accident today.

The officer was driving in the 12000 block of Manchester Road, when an SUV veered into the officer's lane. The two vehicles collided and the cruiser was sent into a utility pole. The officer was taken to the hospital for minor burns from the airbag deployment.

The driver of the SUV also suffered minor injuries. No charges will be filed.

A suspect's attempt to flee police came to a painful end today.

The man was attempting to drive away from police on southbound 55 when he stopped his car, got out, and started to run. The suspect hopped over the median and tried to run across the northbound lanes when he collided with a car. Police shut down the highway while they treated the victim. No word on his condition.

The suspect was wanted for outstanding felony warrants.
