Endangered person advisory - missing So. County teen

Thursday, 24 April 2014 03:14 Published in Local News
St. Louis County Police are searching for a Mehlville teen who walked out of his parents South County home after threatening suicide.  Police say he argued with his family and then left on foot.
Police have issued an Endangered Person Advisory for 16 year old Blake Daniel Graham.  He's described as white, 5' 9", 140 lbs, with blond hair and blue eyes.  He was last seen about 9:00 p.m. Wednesday wearing a red hoodie and dark blue jeans.
Anyone seeing the missing person, associate, or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the St Louis County Police Department at 314-889-2341.

Railroad work delays drivers in Kirkwood

Thursday, 24 April 2014 02:54 Published in Local News

Drivers on Kirkwood Road are used to waiting for the train, but that wait is a little longer today.

Union Pacific crews are making a critical repair to the tracks crossing Kirkwood Road near the Amtrak Station.  That is forcing the trains to use a single track and slow down to 10 miles per hour.

City officials say the slower trains are taking longer to pass, and that's holding up traffic on Kirkwood Road.

Besides the train crossing delays, part of the road will be blocked off between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday.  Motorists are advised to use the bypass on Clay Avenue if possible.

The work and the delays will last through the Thursday evening rush.

GOP lawmakers introduce term limits bill

Thursday, 24 April 2014 02:44 Published in Local News
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Illinois Republican leaders have introduced a proposal that would force statewide officers to serve a two-term limit.
Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno and House Republican Leader Jim Durkin announced the proposed amendment to the Illinois Constitution on Wednesday.
It would limit state constitutional officers to two, four-year terms. The proposed amendment also would bar office holders from serving more than 10 years if they were appointed to fill a term before being elected.
GOP gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner of Winnetka also is pushing for his own term limits initiative that would cap lawmakers' terms at eight years.
Durkin and Radogno's proposal needs to pass by three-fifths margins in both chambers of the General Assembly by May 4 before it could be placed on the November ballot.
