All lanes were initially blocked on westbound I-64 just west of Boyle early Monday morning . No word on injuries.
Vacant warehouse fire shuts down MLK Drive Sunday evening
Monday, 22 April 2013 03:56 Published in Local NewsInvestigators are still trying to determine the cause of a two-alarm fire that shut down a busy St. Louis County roadway for several hours Sunday evening. Flames and smoke from the fire along Dr. Martin Luther King Drive in Wellston could be seen for miles.
King Drive was closed just west of Kielien for about four hours while firefighters from seven departments battled the blaze.
The fire destroyed a warehouse on the site of an old car dealership.
Fire officials say the building was vacant, and no one was hurt.
Police: 5 dead in shooting in Federal Way, Washington
Monday, 22 April 2013 02:53 Published in National NewsFEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) — Police say five people are dead in a shooting at an apartment complex south of Seattle, including a suspect who was shot by officers responding to the chaotic scene.
Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock says officers responded to a 9:30 p.m. Sunday emergency call in Federal Way of shots being fired.
Arriving police spotted two injured men on the ground in a parking lot and one of them reached for a gun as the officers moved in to assist them.
Schrock says officers then opened fire. The man was killed but it wasn't immediately clear if it was from police gunfire.
The other man one the ground and another man in the parking lot were found dead.
In a search of the complex, police found yet another man dead in one apartment and a slain woman in another.
There was no immediate word what set off the gunfire.
