Metro Transit officials and union leaders will resume contract negotiations early next month.
Bi-State Development Agency President & CEO John Nations officials with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 788 have assured him there will be no work stoppages before both sides sit down and talk the week of September 9th. The union represents MetroBus and MetroLink operators as well mechanics and some clerical staff.
Nations says a work stoppage would be unfair to the nearly one million passengers a week who ride MetroLink and Metro buses.
Police in the City of St. Louis are asking for the public's help to find two men who held a waitress at gunpoint while robbing a diner earlier this month.
It happened at the Eat-Rite Diner on Chouteau on early on August 12th. Police say the suspects had been playing pinball inside the restaurant when they asked the waitress for change for a dollar. When she gave them the change, one of them pulled a handgun and pointed it at her, demanding the money in the register. She complied and the suspects took the money and fled in a white Buick Regal or Century with a missing hubcap.
A surveillance image of the suspects can be seen on our website, KTRS.com.
Anyone with information is urged to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian activists say President Bashar Assad's forces are pressing on with a military offensive in the rebel-held eastern Damascus suburbs where the opposition says a chemical weapons attack killed over 100 people.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says it had no word on casualties in Thursday's bombing of eastern Ghouta.
The government has denied as "absolutely baseless" allegations it used chemical weapons in artillery barrages there on Wednesday.
The U.S., Britain and France have demanded that a team of U.N. experts already in the country be granted immediate access to investigate the site.
Opposition figures and activists have reported widely varying death tolls, from 136 to as high as 1,300. But even the most conservative tally would make it the deadliest alleged chemical attack in Syria's civil war.
