St. Louis Police are giving vehicle owners a chance to keep their cars safe on the cheap.

They’re selling auto clubs for just $13, license plate covers for $5, and license plate fasteners for just $3. The sale is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Central West End at the NSI office on North Euclid and all transactions are cash only.

A suspect's attempt to flee police came to a painful end today.

The man was attempting to drive away from police on southbound 55 when he stopped his car, got out, and started to run. The suspect hopped over the median and tried to run across the northbound lanes when he collided with a car. Police shut down the highway while they treated the victim. No word on his condition.

The suspect was wanted for outstanding felony warrants.

Woman jumps from moving car on I-70

Investigators hope to get some answers from a St. Peters man as to why a young woman jumped out of the car he was driving.

KSDK-TV reports the Missouri Highway Patrol wants to know what motivated 23-year-old Julia Armstrong jumped from the car as it traveled eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Zumbehl Road just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Armstrong is recovering in the hospital.  

The driver, 53-year-old James Anthony of St. Peters, was expected to be questioned.
