Traffic delays are just around the corner for those who travel the Chesterfield Valley.

MoDOT is closing the Chesterfield Parkway West bridge near the Chesterfield Mall and City Hall at midnight Tuesday.  It will remain closed for the next four months while crews remove and replace it.

More closures are scheduled for Friday night when crews will shut down Highway 64/40 completely in the Chesterfield Valley to take down not only the Chesterfield Parkway West bridge, but also the old Chesterfield Airport Road bridge.

The complete Highway 64/40 closure will last all next weekend. All lanes should reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, April 7.

Cardinals close deal on minor league team

Friday, 28 March 2014 10:46 Published in Local News
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Cardinals now own their top minor-league team.

The Cardinals on Friday closed on the purchase of the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds. As part of the deal, the city of Memphis, Tenn., acquires AutoZone Park and will lease the stadium to the Cardinals. Both are buying from Fundamental Advisors LP, the sole bondholder of the Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Plans for the purchase were first announced late last year.
The Cardinals say the purchase agreement includes a significant investment in AutoZone Park, but did not elaborate.

The Memphis franchise has had financial struggles in recent years. The team drew more than 800,000 fans when the stadium opened in 2000, but has drawn fewer than 500,000 in recent seasons.
