CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (AP) - Organizers of an outdoor festival featuring the rap-metal group Insane Clown Posse say they'll make good on their debts.
The Southern Illinoisan reports the company that put on the festival issued a statement saying it has "no intention of turning its back on these financial obligations."
The Gathering of the Juggalos was presented by Psychopathic Records Inc. The yearly festival drew tens of thousands of people to southern Illinois for a week of music and entertainment.
Vendors have been complaining that they've received bad checks to cover the costs of the event near Cave-In-Rock.
CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (AP) - Authorities have identified the 24-year-old man who died at an annual southern Illinois outdoor music festival.
The Hardin County coroner says the cause of death for Cory Collins of Harrisburg is pending the results of toxicology tests.
The Southern Illinoisan reports Hardin was found dead at the Hog Rock campground during the Gathering of the Juggalos. That's a weekend festival based around the band Insane Clown Posse.
Hardin County Coroner Jessica Cullum says her office received a call about the death on Friday. Illinois State Police are investigating.
The festival that runs through Sunday is expected to draw about 10,000 people.
The event in past years has resulted in unrest, including in 2011 when one attendee drowned while trying to swim in the Ohio River.
CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (AP) — A yearly southern Illinois outdoor music festival featuring the Insane Clown Posse rap-metal group is getting underway in southern Illinois, and police say they'll be ready for the thousands of the band's fans.
Illinois State Police say they're prepared along with Hardin County sheriff's authorities for the kickoff Wednesday near Cave-In-Rock of the latest Gathering of the Juggalos. Juggalos are fans of the band.
State police say 10,000 people are expected to attend the event that runs through Sunday.
The event in past years has resulted in unrest, including fans pelting reality TV actress Tila Tequila with stones, bottles and feces in 2010. Authorities said that event also involved one man stabbing another. In 2011, one of the attendees drowned while trying to swim in the Ohio River.
The Killers and Wilco will headline this year's LouFest in Forest Park. The lineup for the annual music festival was announced Monday night via Twitter.
The Alabama Shakes and The National will also perform at the two-day event. A number of local acts are also scheduled to take the stage September 7th and 8th.
Tickets go on Sale this Friday.
Besides music, festival organizers are promising premium food vendors, an art market with quality local artisans, and plenty of fun & cool interactive activities around the park.
