St. Louis police are investigating the city's fourteenth homicide of the year.
Officers say 21-year-old Erick Burney was walking in the 1500 block of Montgomery in North St. Louis on Monday afternoon, when a driver pulled up alongside him. Investigators say someone inside the car started shooting. Burney was hit multiple times and died at the hospital.
No information on a suspect has been released.
The drug dealer at the center of the St. Clair County court scandal, is headed to prison.
Sean McGilvery was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday. McGilvery pleaded guilty to selling heroin last year and said that then-judge Michael Cook was a regular customer. Court documents say that Cook stopped by McGilvery's house almost every day to pick up heroin. Cook admitted to drug charges and will be sentenced next month.
Another Judge, Joe Christ, died of a cocaine overdose at a cabin owned by Cook in March.
Police have identified the man killed during a robbery Monday night.
Police say 28-year-old Randy Burgess and another man were sitting in a car North St. Louis last night. Just before 9 PM two suspects walked up to the car and demanded money from the men. The suspects shot into the vehicle, the driver of the car got out and ran away.
Burgess was hit twice and died at the scene. Police have not announced any suspects.
A St. Louis man is facing charges connected to a double shooting that happened last week.
Police say that John Trevillion shot Tony West and Brian Jordan in the 4700 block of Fletcher in Northwoods. West survived the attack, but Jordan died. Trevillion now faces several felony charges including first-degree murder.
