The westbound span of the Blanchette Bridge is opening just in time.

Officials in St. Charles expect 300,000 visitors to the Festival of the Little Hills this weekend. Festival kicks off at 4 this afternoon and runs until 10 PM. The celebration and activities continue on Saturday and Sunday. This is the 44th year for the event.

Booths take over Main Street from Monroe on the north to Boone's Lick on the south, as well as Frontier Park along the banks of the Missouri riverfront. 350 exhibitors will be present.

Despite opening three westbound lanes on the Blanchette Bridge earlier today, MODOT wants to remind drivers that work continues on the bridge complex.

Some median work as well as painting of the overhead trusses is still to be completed. Tonight, the two left lanes of westbound I-70 will be closed and there will be lane closures eastbound as well.

If you are planning to go to St. Charles for the Festival of The Little Hills this weekend, MODOT encourages using 370 and 364 as alternate routes.
