Fifth Third bank in Clayton robbed

Monday, 29 July 2013 17:40 Published in Local News

The Clayton branch of Fifth Third Bank was robbed on Monday afternoon.

Police say the suspect entered the bank just before 2PM, handed the teller a note demanding money, and left. The suspect is a middle-aged white man. He is 5'9" tall with a slim build. He drove from the scene in a blue or purple Hyundai that was driven by a woman.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Clayton police at 314-645-3000.

Families of Normandy students are invited to a town hall meeting tonight.

Officials will discuss how the transfer of students will affect the unaccredited district. 700 Normandy students have applied to transfer to other districts. The meeting will start at 6:30 tonight and be held at the St. Louis County Library branch on Natural Bridge.

Meeting organizers argue that the transfer of that many students could bankrupt the Normandy School District. Normandy is responsible for covering the tuition cost of any transferring student.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A man accused in the deaths of three women whose bodies were found wrapped in trash bags in Ohio has been indicted on 14 counts including aggravated murder and kidnapping.

The Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office announced Monday that a grand jury charged 35-year-old Michael Madison with six counts of aggravated murder, three counts of kidnapping, three counts of gross abuse of a corpse, one count of rape and one count of having weapons under disability.

Police discovered the first of three bodies in a dilapidated East Cleveland neighborhood July 19 after responding to a call about a foul odor. Madison was arrested the same day at his mother's house after a brief standoff with police.

Madison has no attorney listed in the county.
