Students released early after threat on school

Students are being dismissed from Confluence Academy after a threat was made against the school today.

Police are investigating the threat. Fox 2 reports that the school is not on lock-down but classes were let out early. The threat was at the schools campus at 3112 Meramec.

ALTON, Ill.-- AP -- An Alton attorney is free on bond after being accused of growing marijuana in the basement of a home he owns.

Prosecutors in Madison County on Monday charged 56-year-old Bradford Hunt with two felony counts of unlawful production of marijuana plants and a misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of marijuana.

The (Alton) Telegraph says police investigating a reported burglary at the house found two dozen marijuana plants in the basement, along with equipment used to grow the drug.

Hunt’s home telephone has been disconnected, and calls to his office on Tuesday morning went unanswered. It was not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

IDOT to close McKinley Bridge this weekend

A quick traffic note. IDOT will close the McKinley Bridge this weekend.

Crews will close the bridge starting Friday at 10 PM. They will be cleaning the bridge's driving surface and applying a deck sealant. All work should be complete by 5 AM on Monday.
