A St. Louis man faces charges after police say they discovered a 22-month-old in the house where he had a meth lab.

28-year-old Anthony Brady allegedly operated the lab out of his home in the 8500 block of Minnesota. While searching his home, police say they found meth, as well as pseudoephedrine and other items used to make the drug. Authorities also believe the toddler living in the home was exposed to the lab, which contained hazardous and highly flammable chemicals.
Could St. Louis host the Summer Olympics for the first time since 1904?

Mayor Francis Slay was one of 35 mayors who received a letter asking if they are interested in assembling a bid for the 2024 games. There is a stumbling block though, St. Louis does not have enough hotel rooms. The host city is required to have 45,000 hotel rooms, but St. Louis has on 38,000.

It is too early to get overly excited, Mayor Slay has meetings planned with CVC before deciding if the city will consider a bid.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri House Republicans have given a resounding `no' to Democratic plans to expand Medicaid.

Two separate House committees rejected the plan Monday. One shot down an attempt to add funding for a Medicaid expansion to the 2014 budget. Another panel defeated legislation that would have authorized the expansion of Medicaid coverage to an estimated 260,000 lower-income adults.

Both committees voted along party lines, with Republicans opposing the Medicaid expansion and Democrats supporting it. More than 30 people representing health care, business and social services groups testified in support of the proposed expansion.

The Medicaid expansion is called for by President Barack Obama's health care law and supported by Gov. Jay Nixon.

House Republicans are working on an alternative that may include a more modest expansion combined with cost-savings measures.
