Job seekers can apply for one of nearly a thousand seasonal positions at St. Louis area Home Depot stores.

Fox 2 reports that the company has around 975 positions available. These jobs are not all temporary, as Home Depot transitions about half of their season hires into regular positions. The company is also working to help military veterans find a job at Home Depot. They have launched an Online Military Skills Translator to help match unique military skills with positions within the company.

St. Louis - AP - Dredging operations in the middle Mississippi River are finished for the winter.

The Army Corps of Engineers has been using two dredges, one from Memphis, Tenn., the other from St. Louis, to help keep the river channel clear. The work has been especially important this winter because the river level has been near historic lows, threatening barge traffic.

The corps says the dredges need seasonal maintenance, and crews are due for time off. The dredging season normally ends in November but was extended in the so-far successful fight to keep the river open.

The two dredges removed more than 8 million cubic yards of sediment in the last six months in the area between St. Louis and Cairo, Ill. The corps says that is more than twice the normal amount.

MoDOT has detailed ramp closures this weekend due to Mardi Gras activities.

Saturday ramps in both directions of 55 will close at Arsenal and Gravois, as well as the northbound 55 ramp to 3200 Broadway. Those ramps will all be closed from 6AM to 4PM. The eastbound I-70 ramp to Broadway will be closed from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. for the Fat Tuesday parade and activities. A complete list of closures can be found below:

On February 11 once a day closures of I-64 will begin at the new I-64 Daniel Boone Missouri River Bridge to blast rock adjacent to the eastbound lanes on the St. Charles County end of the bridge. Traffic will be stopped for up to 10 minutes at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. weekdays for about one month.
