Charges have been filed against two men after an attempted holdup in Forest Park Monday night led to a fatal shooting. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office has filed second-degree murder and armed robbery charges against Joshua Hunter and Jamaal Robinson. Both are 20 years old. Hunter and Robinson were with 18 year old Antonio Nash Monday night when they approached a man and his female friend who were jogging near the Grand Basin at about 11:15. The man happened to be an off-duty St. Charles County sheriff's deputy. After being threatened and seeing that the suspects were armed, the deputy used his service weapon to shoot all three robbers. Nash died from his wounds and Hunter and Robinson are hospitalized. The joggers were not injured. A St. Louis homicide investigation continues and an internal investigation by the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department will be conducted when the St. Louis police have completed their inquiries. Police say the deputy appeared to be justified in using lethal force. He has been placed on paid administrative leave.
