U.S. Congressman Bill Enyart announced his candidacy for re-election Tuesday with stops in Belleville and Carbondale.
The Illinois Democrat says he is continuing his mission to bring common sense to Washington, adding "Our nation, our region cry for leadership while political parties bicker. I am sickened by the political posturing that goes on in Washington, as well as in Springfield."
Enyart is a veteran of both the Air Force and Army. He retired in 2012 as Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard in order to run for Congress. He was elected in November of 2012 to succeed retiring Congressman Jerry Costello.
