UPDATE: Ebony Jackson murder suspect in custody

Charges could be filed Wednesday against the man police believe murdered an Oklahoma woman whose baby was found abandoned in a Breckenridge Hills apartment building in January. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police have arrested a man who reportedly had a previous relationship with the victim, Ebony Jackson.

Investigators believe Jackson was killed in the suspect's north city home, not far from where her body was found stuffed in the trunk of her own car. The paper reports that the suspect's current girlfriend lives in the apartment building where Jackson's baby was found.

The death of a man whose body as found in a ditch along a busy Collinsville road is being considered suspicious.

Fox 2 news reports a relative of the victim has identified the body as her missing brother, 23-year-old Anthony Conners of Collinsville. The family reported him missing yesterday morning.

His body was found face down around 6pm yesterday in a water-filled ditch by an off-duty police officer who had been out jogging near Beltline Road and Illinois Route 157.

Police believe the body could have been in the ditch since Sunday. Relatives say Conners was last seen Saturday night leaving a nearby Burger King.

A toddler who's been the subject of a search after her mother was found murdered is safe.

Police had been looking for 30 month old Tiana McNeil since her mother's family told them they didn't know where she was. The body of 27 year old Tatiana McNeil had been found Tuesday afternoon in a weedy lot along the 9200 block of Riverview.

Police say early Thursday evening, a woman came forward and told them she'd been caring for the toddler for about two weeks, when Tatiana McNeil dropped her off. The woman, identified only as a close friend of the victim, told police that it wasn't unusual for Tatiana to leave the child with her for extended periods. Police also say that the woman didn't know her friend had been killed until media reports had aired about the missing girl.

The girl is now in the custody of her maternal grandmother. The search for her mother's killer continues.
