Baseball fans are not the only group hoping the Cardinals go far in the postseason. Businesses are rooting for the Redbirds.
Ruth Sergenian is the Director of Economic Research for the St. Louis Regional Chamber says each game in the NLDS has an impact around $5.3 million. The total impact on the region would depend based on the number of home games played, but Sergenian estimates that if the Cards went through the World Series, it could be an input of nearly $70 million.
The season's economic impact was $347 million, up from $331 million for the 2012 season.
