An nationwide email scam is popping up in Missouri.

The email claims that the recipient is owed millions in unclaimed property. The email typically comes from someone named Alex James and says that the money comes from a dead relative. The sender then asks for personal information to claim the prize.

State Treasurer Clint Zweifel reminds everyone that they can check for unclaimed property at  showmemoney.com.

Forbes calls St. Louis new tech startup hub

According to Forbes magazine, St. Louis is a model for how cities can become a tech hub.

Forbes spoke to local business owners who say the city has come a long way in developing a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem. In the past several years tech startups like Appistry, CrowdSource, and Lockerdome have decided to call St. Louis home.

Forbes also says local officials are continuing work to enhance St. Louis' reputation by starting a program that will raise $100 million over five years to help tech business development.

Group offers low-cost spaying program

One St. Louis organization is offering to spay female dogs for low-income families.

The $20 fee for the procedure also includes some pampering for your pooch. She will get her nails trimmed and painted, get a paw massage, ear cleaning, and an overnight stay at the Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic Hotel and Spa. The group is also offering low-cost vaccinations.

Proof of low-income or government assistance is requires. Dog owners from both Missouri and Illinois are invited to attend. Reservations are required by calling 314.771.PETS (7387).
