Troy, IL man charged for downloading child porn

Wednesday, 24 July 2013 17:10 Published in Local News

A Troy, Illinois man is facing charges for allegedly downloading child pornography.

The Madison County Sheriff's office started investigating Tyler Bergland after receiving a tip from a national organization that someone at a home in the town had downloaded the child port. Yesterday, authorities searched Bergland's house and found the images.

Bergland is held on a $100,000 bond.

Five people were shot at and three injured during a drive-by shooting last night.

Police say that around 6:30 last night, someone in a gray Chevy Cruze started shooting at a home in the 1800 block of Switzer. Two men were hit, one victim in the shoulder and neck, the other victim in the jaw. Investigators say a woman in the home was injured, but was not shot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Louis Police Department.
