Skydive instructor and student die during jumps in Florida
Sunday, 24 March 2013 07:17 Published in National NewsPascoe County sheriff's spokeswoman Melanie Snow said the two men took part with 20 other people Saturday in jumps in Zephyrhills, about 30 miles northeast of Tampa. Authorities say a search began when only 20 of the 22 skydivers returned.
Snow said the bodies were founded near each other Saturday evening in woods south of the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport. She would not comment whether their parachutes of the skydivers had opened, saying that was part of the investigation.
The spokeswoman later said the dead were identified as 41-year-old instructor Orvar Arnarson and 25-year-old student Andrimar Pordarson. No hometowns were given.
Snow totals top double digits in northern metro areas
Sunday, 24 March 2013 07:09 Published in Local NewsBy 4:50 PM, areas like O'Fallon, St. Peters, St. Charles, and Florissant, Missouri were all reporting over 10" of snow. That total is expected to continue to rise overnight, with the possibility of another inch on Monday.
MoDOT officials urge drivers to remain cautious through the Monday morning rush.

The entire area is under either a Winter Storm Warning or Advisory until midnight Sunday. Snow has been falling very quickly along with blowing snow, making travel hazardous. Winds are 10-30mph. The Missouri Department of Transportation had 200 crews out overnight preparing roads for icy conditions. Snow crews with IDOT have been doing the same.
Snowfall totals will be greater in the northern sections of the listening area. 2"-4" is expected in southern counties, up to 8" in the metro area, with up to 11" in northern counties.
Lambert Airport is also under a Winter Storm Warning. As of 11:15 AM 38 Arriving flights have been canceled. 40 Departing flights have been canceled.

Union police said the home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters responded Friday night.
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters found the bodies of the 24-year-old woman and her two children, ages 1 and 6. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that their names weren't immediately released.
The woman's 26-year-old husband wasn't home at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
