Icy roads cause spate of accidents, road closures
Thursday, 28 February 2013 00:48 Published in Local NewsSeveral accident forced Illinois officials to close the eastbound span of the Jefferson Barracks Wednesday evening. Several cars had slid into the guard rail.
Missouri State troopers closed a portion of Highway 21 in Jefferson County after slick roads caused a multi-vehicle accident along 21 near Schenk Road.
Also, Highway 61 was closed at Wilson Road, about 10 miles north Troy, Missouri after several vehicles slid off the road, some overturning.
The National Weather Services issued a special weather statement Wednesday evening advising drivers to use extra caution, especially on bridges and untreated roadways.
Embattled Ellisville mayor suspended - impeachment hearing set for March 20

Dozens of residents had attended the special council meeting to show support for the Mayor, but it didn't sway the council.
A hearing was scheduled for March 20 to decide whether Paul should be permanently removed from office.
Mayor Paul has been at odds with most of the council over a controversial Walmart TIF since he was elected last April.

Lacy is accusing Officer Proctor of choking him and slamming his head into a patrol car bumper during a trespassing arrest at Lumiere Place Casino last July. Two of the four-outstanding warrants against Lacy stem from that arrest.
