CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A woman charged with murder in the death of a toddler in 2011 will not go on trial this week as scheduled after her attorney was injured in an accident.
A mistrial was declared in St. Louis County on Tuesday in the second-degree murder trial of 31-year-old Jennifer M. Winkler, of Eureka. Her attorney, Neil Bruntrager, suffered a concussion during a fall. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Bruntrager was treated and released at a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Winkler is charged with second-degree murder and felony child abuse in the shaking death of 13-month-old Lily Annabella Rieger. The girl was injured while Winkler was at her home watching Lily.
St. Louis County Police asking for help to find a burglar who has hit Lutheran North High School for a fourth time.
The most recent incident occurred October 27. The suspect stole an Apple desktop computer from the school's counseling room. The suspect is described as a black man in his 30's. He has a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a green jacket, with a tan collar, gray jeans or Dockers, black shoes and black skull cap.

ST. LOUIS -- AP -- A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a murder that happened more than 14 years ago.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 38-year-old Willie McNeil was sentenced Monday after a plea agreement with prosecutors.
The crime happened May 24, 1999, when 47-year-old Mark Raiffie was beaten and shot at the family business he ran, Raiffie Vending Co.
The case went cold until a tipster called police with information and McNeil was charged with first-degree murder in 2011. As part of the plea deal, the charge was reduced to second-degree murder.
St. Louis County police are turning to the public for help to find a suspect in a triple shooting this weekend.
Investigators say the victims and the suspect got into a confrontation Saturday afternoon. Then at 10:30 PM Saturday night, the groups met outside the Dellwood Market. Police say the suspect started shooting, and his three people. All the victims are expected to survive.

JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) — A 39-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death of a Missouri Southern State University football coach.
Joplin police said Saturday that the Jasper County prosecutor's office has charged Jeffery Bruner of Joplin with felony murder and armed criminal action in 37-year-old Derek Moore's death. Moore died after he was shot Friday night as he left a Joplin movie theater.
Bruner is being held without bond in Joplin. Jail officials say it's not clear if he has a lawyer.
Moore was in his first year as a Missouri Southern offensive line coach. He came to MSSU after three seasons at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.
The university canceled its Homecoming activities and said in a statement the school was "stunned and deeply saddened" by Moore's death.
PERRYVILLE, Mo. (AP) — The former police chief in the southeast Missouri town of Perryville is facing charges of felony theft, forgery and misdemeanor making a false report.
The Southeast Missourian reports that charges were filed Thursday against Keith Tarrillion by the Missouri Attorney General's office, which had been investigating Tarrillion on allegations made by city employees earlier this year.
Tarrillion does not have a listed attorney.
He resigned as chief in March, but remains on the city payroll as part of a resignation agreement.
In the wake of Tarrillion's resignation, Perryville city officials decided to ask voters whether the police chief position should be elected or appointed. A vote on the issue is Tuesday.
The mother of Willow Long was arrested this month on drug possession charges.
Police records show that Ciara DeRyke was arrested on October 14, police stopped her for speeding and found marijuana in her car. The arrest came a little over a month after investigators say her daughter, Willow, was killed by Justin DeRyke. Justin has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder.
Jury selection is supposed to start in December, but the trial is not expected to get underway until 2014.
A 20-year-old woman remains in critical condition after she was shot in the chest sitting outside a north St. Louis home early this morning.
The woman was sitting with two friends at a house near Fountain Park around 2:30 this morning, when an unknown suspect started shooting. The woman was hit, one of her friends pulled out a gun and shot back.
Police say it does not appear that the victim was the gunman's intended target. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
Police have released a picture of the suspects connected to a series of car break-ins.
The break-ins happened in Kirkwood last Wednesday and the thieves targeted 14 cars. Police say some cars had been left unlocked, but in other cases the thieves smashed windows or broke locks on doors. The suspects stole electronics, cash, and credit cards--one of the cards was used to make three purchases at a Wal Mart in Jefferson County.
