Two iconic buildings bulldozed
What goes up forces another building to come down--one in Dogtown the other downtown.
The Bowling Hall Of Fame is coming down to make room for the first phase of construction for Ballpark Village outside Busch Stadium.
The old KTVI (Channel 2) building at Hampton and Berthold avenues in southwest St. Louis is being bulldozed to make way for a Mercedes Benz dealership. Tri-Star Imports, now in Ellisville, plans to open a car lot there later this year.
The Berthold building survived a tornado in 1959 which took out the station's tower and caused damaged to the building.
The station moved to Maryland Heights in 2008.
