Craigslist ad leads police to stolen car

St. Louis, MO (KTRS) - St. Louis County Police say a Craigslist post led them to a car thief.

Court documents indicate that a car owner reported that she started her car during a cold day in March and left it running with the keys inside and the doors unlocked. A few minutes later, the woman said she walked outside and the car was gone. Police say they traced the car to an ad on Craigslist.

21-year-old Aubrey Watkins is being held in connection to the theft. Police say Watkins said he bought the car from a friend and knew it was stolen.
