Help on the way to troubled homeowners

Troubled homeowners could be getting some help as soon as next week.

Borrowers who are at least 90 days behind on their mortgage and have loans backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will start receiving offers from lenders to lower payments. This is part of an effort called the "Streamlined Modification Initiative". The exact number of homeowners who will receive offers is not known.

A couple of other restrictions on eligible loans; owners cannot be more than 24 months behind and the loan has to be at least a year old.

 

St. Louis Art Museum closed due to power outage

The Saint Louis Art Museum is going to remain closed for the rest of the day due to a power outage.

The outage started just before 9 AM. Just a few visitors were in the museum when the power went out. It is not known what caused the outage. The museum is set to open tomorrow at 10 AM.

 

A 22-year-old Florissant mother is accused with breaking her 11-week-old son's arm.

Police say Alison Honkomp twisted her baby's arm until it broke. She has been charged with assault and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
