Today was the first chance for job seekers to apply for jobs at the new Ballpark Village development.
 
Applicants were invited to the SLATE Missouri Career Center, which is located at 1520 Market Street, to hear about the upcoming opportunities. This was the first of four open-call sessions, with the other scheduled for February 4 and 18, and March 4. The sessions run from 10AM - 5PM at the SLATE Missouri Career Center, which is located at 1520 Market Street, 1st floor conference room. No one will be hired at the sessions, but managers will decide who to invite back for an interview.
 
Pre-registration is required prior to the event. For more information call the Ballpark Village hotline at 314-657-3513. There are more of these open house session planned--with two in February and two more in March. 
 

St. Louis County residents were startled when the severe weather sirens started sounding Tuesday afternoon.

 

Around 2:30 the sirens went off. The St. Louis County Office of Emergency Management says the sirens went off due to human error. They also say that the sirens are now functioning properly. 

 

The Office sent out the following tweets, explaining the situation:

 

Siren activation at 14:35 today was in error. System is functioning properly

 

Slightly more detail: The sirens were accidentally manually activated during routine maintenance

Missouri History Museum names new president

Frances Levine is the new president of the Missouri History Museum.

 

The museum made the announcement today. Levine was the director of the New Mexico History Museum. Levine will receive annual compensation worth $260,000.

 

The Missouri History Museum’s previous president, Dr. Robert Archibald, stepped down in December 2012.
