MADRID (AP) - A Spanish court official says 77 people were killed when a passenger train derailed on a curvy stretch of track in northwestern Spain in what was one of the country's worst rail accidents in decades.

Maria Pardo Rios, spokeswoman for the Galicia region's main court, said Thursday that 73 people were found dead at the scene of the accident and four died at hospitals.

At least 140 people were injured in the derailment late Wednesday.

As the August 1 transfer deadline looms for students in the unaccredited Riverview Gardens School District, a snag has developed that could throw the whole process into chaos.

Riverview officials will have to pick a second district to bus students to.  That's because the first district they selected, Mehlville, reports that they only have room for about 150 transfer students, about one-third of the more than 400 who've applied to transfer.

Under state guidelines the Riverview Gardens District must now choose a second district where it will provide free bus transportation.

Students were required to list their top three choices of schools on their transfer applications.  And that information could help Riverview officials select the second destination district.

Riverview Gardens officials have not yet selected a second district for free bus transportation.

The manufacturer of the Plan B One Step morning-after contraceptive has been granted exclusive rights by the FDA to market their drug over-the-counter without age restrictions. The decision was released earlier this week.

The Food and Drug Administration approved Teva Pharmaceuticals' Plan B One Step for over the counter sale...no prescription or proof of age required.  In its decision, the FDA granted a three year period during which Teva can sell its' single tablet product exclusively on pharmacy shelves, while generic drugs will still require a prescription for young women 16 and younger.

Most metro St. Louis pharmacies carry Teva's Plan B, which is a two-pill dosage and some already have the Plan B One Step in the pharmacy. The FDA decision will now move that product on to the store shelves.
